Are you missing some or all of your teeth? Is this affecting the way you eat your food, the way you look and how you feel? One of the most challenging treatments in dentistry is dentures. To produce a set of well fitting, nice looking dentures needs an eye for detail, a dentist that enjoys making them and of course a dentist who is experienced in this field of prosthetic dentistry.
I have a particular interest in dentures ever since I was studying for my specialty in Prosthodontics at Guy’s Hospital, London. I treated many patients missing all their teeth and the ability to reconstruct a patient’s bite and smile was unbelievably rewarding. I enjoyed dentures so much that I spent about four years after completing my specialty, teaching undergraduate students on the Prosthetic Department at Guy’s Hospital. Dentures and more specifically complete dentures need a full understanding of facial anatomy, proportions, occlusion (how the teeth come together), sound production during speech and aesthetics. The benefit of having spent years studying towards becoming a Prosthodontist, is that I acquired all those skills and therefore I am very happy to take on patients who need their whole mouth reconstructed with dentures. I specialise in dentures and implant retained dentures and I work closely with my patients towards the best result possible.
