A denture is a removable prosthesis which is fitted in the mouth in order to replace missing teeth. Normally a denture replaces multiple missing teeth or is made for patients with no teeth. Patients that have been wearing dentures their whole life will find it easy to get used to a new set of dentures, however patients who have not worn dentures before can find it more challenging to begin with.
In many cases we provide patients with implants in order for the dentures to be more successfully supported and retained in the mouth so that there is no movement during speech or when the patient is eating.
If you have an old denture which is discoloured, loose, or hurts during speech or eating, then we can help. Dr Bravis, being a registered specialist in prosthodontics, can provide dentures even in the most complex of cases. As well as her lengthy training to achieve specialist status, her experience in training young dentists at Guy’s Hospital, London, has given her the ability to treat patients with a wide variety of dental problems and has the ability to construct beautifully fitting dentures for them.
