Our aim is to maintain and enhance your natural beauty whilst maintaining a natural look. With modern anti-aging techniques, the effect is a subtle, fresher appearance that still looks like you.
As we age, we lose volume and this leads to deeper wrinkles, deeper skin folds and sagging of the face. This is because from around the age of about 25, the amount of collagen produced in our skin starts to decrease by 1% yearly. By the time we reach our forties, collagen production reduces to the point that we don’t produce any.
Coupled with this we encounter bone resorption and reduction in the production of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally within the deeper layer of the skin and helps the skin look younger and smooth by retaining water. As the repair and renewal process slows down, the damage cannot be repaired effectively causing the appearance of the skin to look and feel dehydrated and it feels like gravity has taken everything down. Areas that are mostly affected are the cheeks, temples, lips and the midface.
There are patients however who are young with no ageing signs. In these cases fillers can be used for beautification and to change face proportions which will give more angled mandibles or more feminine cheek bones as an example. Dermal fillers will replace some of the lost hydration within your skin and also replace volume under the areas of volume loss or wrinkles.
CHEEK CONTOURING AND SCULPTING
The mid face/cheek area is affected most dramatically and can leave us looking sunken and tired. By administering fillers in the midface we replace lost volume and at the same time beautify.
By carefully sculpting the cheeks the effects can be stunning and dramatically improve the signs of aging. Equally by sculpting the cheeks we can enhance the face in younger patients as well. For example, if patients lack pronunciation of the cheeks, even if they are young, they can have filler beautifully added with great looking results.
The temples are two small flat areas that that we find if we place our fingers one either side of our face above the crow’s feet. This area is quite bony and with little volume of fat compared to other areas. As we age, the temples start to lose bone volume and this affects the overall appearance and youthful aspect of the face.
In some patients the temple resorption is so much that the temples look concave instead of round. Correcting the hollowing of the temples can do wonders to the whole filler treatment and it gives fullness to the face. Fillers in the temples also help with lifting the side of the brow and also lessen other changes affecting the cheek and nasio-labial lines. You will be surprised to discover the beautiful results that we can get with injecting hyaluronic acid in the temple area.
LIPS BEAUTIFICATION WITH DERMAL FILLERS
Lip fillers are especially effective for patients with naturally thin or thinning lips or those who want the appearance of more youthful looking lips.
Dermal filler is added to add shape and volume to the lips. It can address the signs of aging in the whole lip area and the lips look immediately fuller and more attractive.
TEAR TROUGH/ UNDER THE EYE AREA
The tear trough is the area between the lower eye lid and cheek and with time we can experience volume loss in this area. This can lead to dark circles and hollows under the eyes.
Treating the tear trough with fillers can restore lost volume and can reduce the dark circles under the eyes. It also reduces fine lines and wrinkles as the filler will boost collagen production. With this treatment we can rejuvenate tired eyes and add volume to the hollows of the eyes. The results can be truly amazing.
This involves treatment of the midface and the jawline (lower third of the face). Patients often present with loss of continuity that comes with a straight jawline. This is called ‘jowling’ and it is caused by fat atrophy and volume loss from bone resorption and tissues descent.
The correct placement of filler at the mandibular angle, in the chin and peri-jowl region can recreate a youthful and beautiful jawline. We would typically start from the midface and follow with the lower part of the face. Face sculpting can be done for younger patients as well who want to change the anatomical proportions of their face.
